Montessori Primary Guide Full Time

Divine Mercy Academy is seeking a trained Montessori primary guide to lead our primary classroom. Divine Mercy Academy is a small Catholic Montessori school that seeks to provide an educational environment for all children that inspires trust in Jesus Christ, a life of virtue, and faith in the Catholic Church.  We have a commitment to serving children with exceptional needs and their families.  This commitment includes a student services team to support each child and the classroom guides.  Our school also has a unique funding model.  Instead of having a standard tuition, we ask our families to invest in the school through their time and talents as well as becoming benefactors to the school.  This makes it possible for a variety of different families to access our school regardless of their income.  It also invites a strong investment from our parents, creating a committed school community.

We seek a candidate who is striving for holiness, who is respectful, charitable, humble, merciful, joyful, community-oriented, and is committed to our school mission.

We also seek a candidate who:

·  Honors the dignity of every child

·  Has a love of learning and an openness to learn alongside the child

·  Has a strong understanding of the Montessori method and its formation of the child

·  Has a thorough knowledge of the Montessori pedagogy and feels confident implementing it

·  Has a strong understanding of literacy and math skills development

·  Is self-driven and hard working

·  Has the ability to effectively assess and track student progress

·  Has the ability to work closely with the other school guides

·  Has the ability to lead a classroom team consisting of an assistant and members of the student services team

·  Is trained in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd or who is willing to be trained
